Treasurer's report: We have $30,356.71 in our account. The bill from PML will be paid this week. One bill that Marsha is investigating at this time is from the county. Maggie moved to accept the treasurer's report, Chad 2nd it. Report approved.
Environmental: Nothing to report.
Maintenance report: Limited mowing due to drought. Marsha only mowed twice in 6 weeks.
The Lake Management Plan for next year will be done by this November and we’re waiting for a quote to come in. We are getting the lily pads removed. Spraying, mechanical removal and native weeds. Lake treatments are the majority of our expenses. It varies due to what treatments the lake needs and what weeds are prevalent.
The spreadsheet of local contractors is very handy for everyone to use and refer to on our website.
Old Business:
Forestry: Now is the time to talk to the FSA about Katie Weimer’s reports and recommendations ( see previous minutes). We can talk to Art Franke again. With an election year, some programs may be eliminated or cut. Marsha will set up a time for us to talk to Art.
Karl continues doing a good job on the website. It is greatly appreciated.
Clean up day is this Saturday Oct. 12th from 9-12. The Recycle center is open 8-12 Saturday. It will be open on Thursday & Friday 8-4 in fall and winter. The 2 dead trees will be removed by the entrance. Autumn Olives, Tree of Heaven will be worked on. The board will begin marking the trees and shrubs to be removed with ribbon/tape. Hot pink ribbon will be used. You may go work on your own to remove any marked trees. Please remove any brush as you go. We can use all of the help we can get.
Burning: Marsha did some investigating and called the Angola Fire Department. They do not use a burn ban. Please once again use good common sense. It is still very dry out there.
The board is continuing to monitor the deer diseases that are going around the area.
Motion to adjourn was by Kristi, Deb seconded it. Meeting adjourned at 7:11pm.
Signed,
Maggie Fetcho, Secretary
